End Of Summer Update - A Message From Our Doctors
Staff | August 2020
Since re-opening in late May, our practice has been operating under strict Covid-19 guidelines and we have been taking all precautions possible to keep our patients and entire team safe. As we approach the end of a very different kind of summer, we would like to give a window into how it has been at our office over the past two months.
We have been very happy to see our patients and team back in the office. At first, we were all a little apprehensive about being back at work. Like anything else, it takes practice before you get good at something. We had to practice our “new normal” – wearing extra PPE, practicing physical distancing, performing temperature checks, etc - before feeling confident and safe. We had multiple meetings and training sessions before re-opening so our team was able to hit the ground running. Our “new normal” began to feel like “normal” pretty quickly. Now that we’ve been open for a few months, our team feels like experts in our new ways and feels confident that we are providing the highest level of safety for our patients and ourselves.
Our entire team loves practicing dentistry and orthodontics, but nothing is more important to us than our relationship with our patients and being able to connect with them and their families. Throughout this pandemic, guidelines and regulations, have seemed to change weekly, and sometimes daily. We have so much appreciation for our patients and are grateful for their understanding as we work in these unpredictable times. A great silver lining is that many patients and parents mentioned that coming to see the dentist is now the most exciting part of their day! Our littlest patients have been so conversational! Many were very eager and excited to tell us all about coronavirus, how to stay safe, and what they’ve been up to during these months of quarantine. It has been truly wonderful to hear the kids’ perspectives!
Understandably, there have been a few cases of patients being a little hesitant to come in. In those cases, we have discussed with them the safety protocols we have in place to protect everyone. Most of our patients who either missed appointments during our closure or who are due for routine care now – have chosen to come in. We do not recommend delaying routine care. Even though it is not possible to practice 100% physical distancing between patient and doctor/assistant/hygienist, the size of our physical space has certainly made following other Covid-19 guidelines a bit easier.
We would like to thank our amazing EJL team for coming on board and eagerly learning and adhering to the ‘new normal’ guidelines. It is through their dedication that we are able to offer safe dental services to you, our valued patients. We would also like to thank our patients for their understanding and patience through these times. We have truly missed each and every one of you during our time apart, so we are very happy being able to reconnect with you all. If you have not yet visited our practice, we encourage you to give us a call to address any concerns you may have. We look forward to hearing from you!
In good health,
Your EJL Dental Family
