WELCOME DR. MATELIS

Each February, the American Dental Association (ADA) sponsors National Children’s Dental Health Month to raise awareness about the importance of oral health. This month-long national health observance brings together thousands of dedicated dental professionals, health care providers and others to promote the benefits of good oral health to children and adults, caregivers, teachers and many others. This is also a good time to welcome the newest member of our professional staff. We are pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Jennifer Blume Matelis, a general dentist recognized for achievements in operative and prosthetic dentistry. She is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Maryland Dental School and a native Washingtonian.

Dr. Jennifer Blume Matelis is a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, Gorgas Odontological Honor Society, and Gamma Pi Delta Honor Society.  During her education at Dental School, she received numerous honors for scholastic performance and exemplary achievement in operative and prosthetic dentistry.

Dr. Matelis served for three years as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy Dental Corps.  While in the service, she completed a post-doctoral degree in Advanced Education in General Dentistry.  She served as a clinic director at Camp Pendleton Marine Base, California.

Following her military service, Dr. Matelis joined a successful third generation family dental practice in Gaithersburg, Maryland where she practiced for 11 years.  She has trained at the prestigious Dawson Academy in Florida and is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Maryland State Dental Association.  She has grown a tremendous patient population through word of mouth, referrals from patients, lectures and corporate outreach.  Dr. Matelis has been chosen by her peers as a TOP DENTIST and was featured in Washingtonian Magazine’s Best Dentists issue.

She currently resides in Potomac, Maryland with her husband and 4 beautiful children.  In her spare time, she enjoys mountain biking, hiking, photography, the Washington Capitals, and watching an endless array of children’s sporting events.

Starting your child off with good dental care can help protect their teeth for decades to come. Dr Matelis is pleased to be part of our legacy practice and looks forward to offering you outstanding oral care.

Also, as we welcome Dr. Matelis to our practice, we are opening our doors to new families to tour and meet us and start to establish a dental home for your child.
