I highly recommend Dr. Metalis. She saw me the same day I called and quickly coordinated a same-day appointment with the specialist I needed. She took the time to clearly explain my situation, walk through the available treatment options, and answer my questions in a way that made me feel informed and comfortable. The office space is very well laid out and clean. The office staff was welcoming and efficient. My hygienist Liz was incredibly conscientious and professional. I have considerable tooth sensitivity, but she took her time to be sure I wasn’t experiencing any discomfort while she used her ultrasonic scaler. I just worked with the dental hygienist, Julia, today, and she was fabulous! She cleaned my teeth well without causing pain, didn't ask a ton of questions while her hands were in my mouth, flagged a place to watch over time, was kind, and even gave me a little face massage when she learned that I'd woken with a headache from clenching my teeth in the night. I was extremely pleased by the outstanding care that I received during my checkup.

Excellent first dentist appointment for our 2-yr-old. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. The actual exam was easy and the appointment was mostly informational. We are set with a new toothpaste, and our boy really enjoyed using a token to get a bouncy ball on the way out. Billing/insurance was handled and explained better than our dentist-for-adults does.

Very nice office. The staff are so patient and kid friendly. We always feel comfortable with Dr. Lewis' recommendations due the time she takes to explain and answer questions. My kids look forward to their appointments!

Every person there goes out of their way, not only to do their job in a thorough and professional manner, but also to be kind and caring. They also are extremely organized. They send reminder and follow up texts, so you don’t have to spend time thinking about booking appointments. Best dentist I’ve ever been to!

I recently had a last-minute dental emergency where I broke a tooth and was in significant pain. Despite being nervous and pregnant, the team was incredibly accommodating and managed to see me the same day. They were gentle and reassuring, walking me through the entire procedure step by step. I truly appreciate the care and professionalism at this dental office. Even though I live 40 minutes away, the commute is absolutely worth it for the exceptional service they provide. The best dental practice ever! I've been bringing my children here for years and every time I am so impressed with the staff. Every dental hygienist is nothing short of amazing and Dr. Sheyda Maghsoudi is so good with children. My oldest LOVES coming here! My youngest has always had a fear of brushing teeth but they have been able to slowly get her more and more comfortable. If I took her anywhere else I truly believe she would have to be restrained to be treated, but everyone at this practice is so good with children and amazing at what they do, she has totally come out of her shell and it's turned into such a positive experience for her! Can't recommend them enough.

My daughter has anxiety and gets really nervous about getting things done on her teeth. She also tends to have issues with her teeth just from bad luck with genetics. This practice has such understanding providers, night and day from the way things were when I was her age dealing with the same thing (at a different practice). They were very understanding when our family had an emergency resulting in a temporary 50% reduction in pay at the same time a bill was coming up due for them which made an incredibly difficult situation just a little bit less stressful. We’ll likely be starting with orthodontics there in the near future and are so grateful to have found their practice since they’re able to expertly accommodate my daughter’s needs.

Perfect practice for those with sensory avoidance or other neurodivergent traits. My son has never been to another dentist/orthodontist… I pay out of network and drive 45 minutes each way. They’re that great!

The entire staff in ortho and dentistry are always so accommodating and kind. They always tell the kids exactly what’s going on during the process. We have been coming here for over 20 years with all four of our kids and have been very happy with EJL along the way.

Today we had an appointment and my son who has special needs needed two caps. Dr.Lewis and her assistants were phenomenal. They were so patient and did everything to make him comfortable. He willingly went into the chair and did not shed a tear. Thank you for doing an amazing job!

2/2023- Really fabulous hygienist Janis Sonley who: -uses gentle and attentive techniques so as not to cause pain during cleaning - is thoughtful, personable, kind and makes one feel cared for - listens, ask questions, and comes up with ideas to help solve problems (such as using a portable water pic) - expended time and effort to really clean my teeth. Very nice seeing Dr Matelis (who has patiently supported me during my very difficult periodontal and health issues) and who this session encouraged me to find dental records for previous work elsewhere as my “homework” Front desk folks were also kind and communicative. Thank you everybody and the great team at EJL!

When we first arrived, we were greeted by an amazing reception staff. The office was bright, clean and modern. We were then introduced to the doctors who would be examining my son, and they were ALL gracious. They took X-rays then gave my son a thorough cleaning. They then showed me the x-rays and explained in detail what was happening. We then met with Dr. Ensor and she was very generous and kind to my son and me as well as all the other staff members. (I wish I remembered all of their names) She then gave us referrals after explaining what was going on. My son said he had a great experience and was happy with how the staff treated him. I was also extremely impressed as well. I would definitely recommend EJL dental.

The way I was treated, you'd think I had been seeing these folks my whole life. It was a comfortable, pain-free visit even though my mouth was far from perfect. While during my most recent visit, the office computer was down, everyone carried on, as in the days prior to dependence on computers. Dr. Webber has helped me fix a persistent problem of my teeth chipping. We’ve been clients of this practice for about 25 years. They’re very friendly and will work with you through any problems. Dr. Ensor is wonderful too. The practice also gives back to the community by helping people with disabilities who need regular dental care.

Dr. Ensor was very patient with my younger child, letting her watch and explaining a simple procedure while performing it on my older child. The staff were very efficient, kind and friendly as always! Both my kids love going there and the various procedures they required have gone well.

Dr. Matelis is a superstar of a dentist! My son has special needs and is not an easy patient. But Dr. Matelis (and Charisse) were able to calm him and make the dental cleaning experience as painless as possible. Dr. Matelis is extremely knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The office staff is equally as professional. There are few medical/dental practices which deserve an A+ rating, but this is definitely one of them.

The staff is fantastic they are incredibly friendly and kind. The place is extremely clean it feels like walking in to a spa. I highly recommend their service.

Dr. Lewis is amazing! She engages our son in every part of the exam; she is so patient and kind. As our son has several environmental sensitivities, she has sought our input about what we believed he could tolerate and how to approach and interact with him. She has her staff on board with the exam plan, so that all members know what our son needs to have a successful appointment. Over time she has moved to a full exam and cleaning even though I doubted that we would ever get the whirring dentist’s tooth brush anywhere our son. As a result, our son happily and willingly walks into the dentist office. This review only provides for 5 stars but Dr. Lewis and her team earn 11 in our eyes.

Dr. Matelis was super helpful this morning, quickly diagnosing and analyzing my issue and providing a creative solution that is at least temporary and may actually turn out to be a long-term fix. Either way, I'm glad she proposed this initial option.

My boys had been going there since they were 2 years old (Now 12 and 10 y/o). Always on time! Love the environment ( neat and clean). The personal is always attended and friendly. Dr. Ensor is very professional and take her time to explain detailed any information and questions we have.

Dr Ensor is so caring, patient and professional in working with our special needs daughter. My daughter is not cooperative and very challenging during dental visits but Dr Ensor provides best caring and complete service as possible . We are very lucky to have doctor like Dr Endor!

I was looking for a dentist for myself and my mom, and we were paired with the amazing Dr. Matelis. What a jewel! She is such a wonderful dentist! She explains things thoroughly and she has the most wonderful bedside manner/personality. She instantly puts you at ease. She has done an outstanding job for the both of us, and because of that we will definitely keep up on our yearly appointments/visits. It's nice to know that EJL is the same place that I brought my daughter to as a young child when Dr. Morganstein was there. It's a wonderful place and you always receive quality service!

I couldn’t let another day go by without giving well deserved praise to Dr. Sheyda and the wonderful team at EJL dental. The experience is simply great from the minute you walk in. Dr Dentist (Jennifer) was absolutely amazing with my severely autistic son. She talked him (us) through the whole process, got him to sit through a fairly comprehensive treatment, and he didn’t bite once! I so appreciate her patience and good humor.

Dr Sheyda Maghsoudi is amazing pediatric dentist. My 8 year old is always happy to get her teeth cleaned and examined by Dr Sheyda. She, her hygienists and assistants have great bedside manner. They really take their time to get to know your children and they do a great job explaining dental procedures in “kid friendly” terms! Always a great visit from the moment we walk in to the moment we walk out!

Every time we visit EJL Dental we have a pleasant experience. All the hygienist, techs and doctors are extremely friendly and easy to talk to and make my nervous kids feel comfortable. I highly recommend this practice.

I have been seeing Dr. Weber since the start of the pandemic. I have been impressed by her and her staff, particularly her dental hygienist, Nancy. I have sensitive teeth which required injections of novacaine in the past whenever I had my teeth cleaned. To their credit, Nancy and Dr. Weber were able to clean my teeth gently enough that I did not need any intervention other than some topical numbing solution. I am grateful to them for that and very pleased with the results they obtained.

My son needed to have four of my his teeth extracted to have the adult teeth come in properly. As before, Dr. Lewis did a wonderful job. She told my son exactly what she was going to do, extracted the teeth quickly and efficiently, went through the discharge instructions, and answered all our questions. She is excellent. I highly recommend her and the entire practice.

This isn’t just a dental clinic to us—it feels like home. All the doctors are incredibly kind and professional, and my entire family feels safe and confident entrusting them with our dental health. There was little wait time, the waiting room is child-friendly, and the nurse and doctor were very kind and welcoming. Dr. Ensor is excellent working with children, and she knows just what to say to calm a nervous toddler.

We can't thank Dr. Johnson enough for fixing our son's teeth. For us, it was a complicated case that took almost 3 years but Dr. Johnson was excellent all the way through the process. With each appointment or milestone, he would provide a detailed patient-status and openly answer any questions we had. Dr Matelis is truly amazing. I’m disabled and have very bad anxiety surrounding really any medical care, including dental care. She has stuck with me through it all and has always done everything in her power to make dentist visits as low stress as possible. I still panic and stress about visits, but knowing that she is as understanding and patient and kind as she is makes it a little easier. I also never feel any judgement or hurry when I’m struggling which I’m incredibly thankful for. I don’t think I’ll ever like going to a doctor, but she is the only doctor I have consistently felt comfortable with over multiple years

I just want to give a shout and share that Dr. Johnson is a thoughtful doctor and an expert in his field. I am a single mom by choice with twins. He's been so respectful and has not compromised care for my daughters. He is thorough, honest, and caring. He is resourceful and committed to serving patients and families with a diverse set of needs.

Drs. Johnson, Ensor, and Lewis are absolutely fantastic. Our four kids and I have been patients in the practice since they became EJL. Initially we were 4 kids age 8 and under including 3 year old twins. Their office set-up is incredibly family-friendly, much more-so than other pediatric dental offices where we have gone. Dr. Ensor has accommodated all 4 kids at once until my oldest went off to college. Dr. Ensor is clearly extremely experienced in dentistry and working with kids, including kids with special needs. She is so calm and reassuring with those of my kids who used to be scared to open their mouths at the dentist’s office. She offers personalized care, working with the personalities to get everything done that they need, even when that may mean delay until the kids have the capacity to do a procedure without being scared. She has a non-interventional approach when procedures are optional. The rare times when Dr. Ensor was not available we scheduled with Dr. Lewis who was also fantastic in her approach: educating parents and kids, with a wonderful beside manor. The dental assistants who work with Dr. Ensor and Lewis are magical with kids, imparting a wonderful mix of humor and serious direction to kids about their dental hygiene. The reception staff is invariably professional, polite, and helpful. Today our fourth child who has had braces under Dr. Johnson’s care finally had his braces off! I cannot sing enough praises for Dr. Johnson and his team. First and foremost, our kids now all have absolutely beautiful smiles with perfectly arranged teeth. Dr. Johnson has a fun and calm demeanor, connects easily with both kids and parents, and clearly communicates goals and expectations. Dr. Johnson’s staff have a wonderful and motivating manor with teens. My oldest had so much fun laughing with his staff when she had braces, she would ask to drive her younger siblings to the office so she could go back and say “hi.” (pre-pandemic…). Related to the pandemic, the practice has been thoughtful and clean, strictly maintaining and following CDC protocols. Despite being extremely cautious myself during the pandemic, I have felt very safe going there and bringing the kids. My adult dentist is Dr. Weber who also works with EJL. She is also absolutely wonderful. She is gentle, caring, understanding and cheerful. The adult dental assistants are also gentle and informative, non-judgmentally helping me improve my own home dental hygiene. Even though the practice is out of network for us, I cannot imagine going anywhere else.

Dr Weber helped my special needs teenager through emergency consultations after hours, two root canals and several fillings over many visits. She calmly talked him through the process, and he did well despite being highly anxious in nature.

We have been extremely impressed with the careful attention EJL Dental has paid to safety for patients and staff during this extraordinary time. From temperature checks to limiting the number of people waiting inside for children to finish appointments, to air filtering and ventilation, we felt we were in good hands at EJL Dental. We began orthodontic treatment for our child before the pandemic began and he has had regular check-ups since then. We were amazed at the improvement made after the braces were removed recently. Straightened teeth, happy smile, healthy patient. We feel much gratitude to EJL Dental and Dr. Johnson for being on the front lines for months and for their commitment and dedication to their patients during challenging times. I had been very hesitant to visit the dentist during the COVID crisis and an “emergency” warranted a most panicked visit. I discovered that EJL Dentist had taken incredible safety measures which included air purifiers, distancing, health surveys and temperature checks to name a few. I was so relieved and felt so safe that I scheduled a cleaning, too. Dr. Matelis went above and beyond with treating my daughter this week. She has a darken tooth that Dr. Matelis was able to help us with treating. At the same time she talked directly to my teenage daughter and helped boost her confidence about the tooth (front tooth everyone can see) and how she will make sure it looks like the other ones when treatment is done. I appreciate her taking the time and realizing my daughter was concerned about how it looked and Dr. Matelis reassured her that her smile is beautiful! Dr. Matelis treats my whole family and we have had wonderful experience with her and the whole office!!! The front desk staff is amazing and incredibly kind. The office is very clean and cozy, which makes it great for adults and kids! I recently moved too far away to see them regularly, and only hope I can find a new dentist half as good as them!
